Wayne Smith - Executive Director - Wayne served in the Vietnam war and began working for the Newark Police force and eventually retired with the Attorney Generals office. One of his biggest accomplishments was solving ocean pollution.
He is retired and spends time with his family. He is married and has 4 children and 5 grandchildren. He enjoys surfing, doing house repairs and cooking. He always loved pets especially large dogs so now he can assist and help homeless pets.
Judith Fordham - Vice President - During high school, Judith was involved with many activities to include, but not limited to fund raising, planning events and alumni reunions. She graduated Monmouth University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. For the past 25 years she has been in the electronics industry as a Sales Executive.
She has two beautiful children: Matthew and Heather. Matthew is a medical doctor. Her daughter, Heather is a News Reporter.
On her space time, Judith loves to spend time with her 5 cats and all her family and friends. She is a 3 time cancer survivor and continues to be an outpatient client of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. And with all this, she still has a very positive attitude.
Judith is most known for her great heart, warm and extremely comical personality. Within a New York minute, she can light up any room.
Michael Teresa - Secretary - Michael has earned a degree in microbiology and a masters degree in telecommunications where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He has spent most of his career in the field of telecommunications and is currently consulting companies in this area. He also has many skills in construction as he recently updated his house. He is currently a member of the Engineering Advisory Board at a local college.
Michael is married and has one son and daughter. He is a true family man and on his spare time he also visits his parents and sisters. When he has extra time , he enjoys reading, riding his mountain bike and skiing. He also follows the financial markets and can tell a good buy or sell.
Michael is most known for his brilliant mind, hard work ethic and trustful nature. He is a serious professional intellect and yet he can make anyone laugh.
Greg DiSessa- Treasurer -Greg's first job was delivering news papers at the age of 13 which lasted for 4 years. In school, he was involved in many athletic activities and was voted "most athletic". Greg has a bachelor degree in finance and a masters degree in management. He spent most of his career in sales and marketing and is currently working for Fed Ex for over 20 years.
Greg is married with 2 daughters. He and his wife, Ana are founders of a 501(c)(3) charity that benefits a third world country, Paraguay. Greg's time is spent doing fund raisers and he has continued his love of sports by coaching varies children's teams. Also, he is involved in his local church and is a member of the Elks.
Greg is loved by everyone he meets because he has a great, warm personality and always goes the extra mile for people. He is a family man who adores his Wife and children. He is honest, comical, and always sees a positive in every situation.
Veronica D’Alessandro Zeichner - Advisory Board member - Veronica was extremely instrumental in assisting a group of volunteers that wanted to start their own 501c3 charity. With her experience within the not-for-profit sector she was able to advise the volunteers on the business operations and financial issues.. She volunteered her experience because she is a true pet lover and had pets her whole her life. When she is not at work she spends time with her family, pets and is an avid runner.
Dean Everetts - In memory of the Founder ‘s Brother.
Dean had worked his entire life in the service industry. At an early age he enrolled in the Marines and spent 2 years traveling all over the USA. After his time in the military, he joined an electrician union. He then started his own business called Eagle Eye doing home improvements to include but not limited to electrical, plumbing, and construction work.
Dean married his high school sweet heart and all together they have 4 children. He lived near the sea because they all loved the beach and fishing.
Dean died in 2016 of a brain tumor. Dean was loved by all and was most known for his family dedication, extreme hard work ethic, and fabulous sense of humor.
Donna - his Wife, works now for this charity as the Director of Volunteering.
Bernard Friedman MD - Advisory Board Member -Bernie graduated from Cornell University and Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed further training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the current New Jersey Medical School Rutgers, at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. After 40 years of practice he is now retired but continues as a voluntary Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine there. He counts dogs and special people among his best friends.
